Hello,
after i compiled a 2.6.8 kernel and installed the fglrx 8.14.13-2 driver using Debian,
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: RADEON 9800 Pro Generic
OpenGL version string: 1.3.5140 (X4.3.0-8.14.13)
i get waierd mouse problems in quake 3 Arena and sometimes even on my gnome desktop.
I have installed the latest linuxq3apoint-1.32b.x86 and downloaded the excessiveplus mod from excessiveplus.net.
Here the symptomes under gameplay:
After about 10-15 seconds my player starts wildly spinning, shooting around and zooming in and out. This goes on until i stop moving my mouse (logitech mouseman dual optical usb)
U can imagine that this is quite annoying!
The waird thing is, that under ubuntu wich i was using before,
i only had this problem before i installed the excessiveplus mod,
after that, gameplay was perfect.
Also, i get this waird mouse behavior under Gnome, the mouse moves over whole screen opening and closing windows randomly!!!
I need some help please,
i can post some more info if u need
Thanks,
_oP

Hello,
this weird problem only appears after compiling the kernel-source 2.6.8 offered from Debian Repositories . Anyway i have solved it with an workaround, I switched the "Bios control for usb" to "os controlled usb". It seems that i have to let linux handle the usb cointroller.
Peculiar isent it...
anyway,
thank u for ur fast reply,
