netrex wrote:As I said already, I can make it, but I have a question about the music part.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to have one song for each who is in the movie. That will make it switch a lot, and it's not a good way to do it IMO. How about finding some songs to use for the whole movie. People can come with suggestions of what they like to have in it maybe?

If people send demos, they could zip or rar them with a text file included with the times where the highlights is in the demo and I can take it from there.
yes!
Thx my norweigan neighbour! :icon25:
Ok..can we all start making demos(tiny parts where u clear the trick/get the awsome frag) and send them to netrex so he can start with the vid.

One song that just gotta be in is:

Slipknot - Before i forget
That song is so fucking raw and fits perfect in Q3A... :icon31:

edit*
Netrex..should we have a closing date for the last demo to submited?

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

For OSP it's just /autorecord, it's much much better. At the end type /stopdemo

im sick and tired of trying to autorecord at the lounge, and the damn msg pop up for everyone to read. I typed it in like so:

/bind - "autorecord"
/bind = "stoprecord"

THe only time it works is if I'm a spec, or dead. If I'm running around and try to start a demo it prints it on the screen, then everyone laughs at me. :( known problem, maybe I bound it wrong...what gives?

It is still there. I'm not sure why you get a problem with the link listed in the movie listing. I clicked on it. It sent me to Fileplanet, I logged in and then had one personal server as well as 2 public servers to download the movie.

:p

netrex is getting himself into something. Hehehe. *waves* :D

Sit back for a few days and see if this pans out. 9 times out of 10 they fall flat :(

Would be nice to see this hold on. Hehehe.

Again. My links are good. *evil grin* Too bad Toxicbug was too lazy to look for a simple link in A LINK that was provided :P++

*crap... back to work.*

If people gather demos I'll complete the movie for sure :) Will you be participating PieceMaker?

Ok. Here is the FTP information. Maybe reef could put it in the original post so people can find it faster:
  • URL: 333fps.net
  • Username: q3world
  • password: q3movie
Put all demos in a zip or rar file and let the name of the file be your nickname. Inside the file, put all demos (demonames aren't important, so they can be whatever), also put in a textfile that contains all the times of when the action is in the various demos. At the start of the textfile, write the nick the way you want it in the movie. Also, in the textfile, after the demoname, put what map it's on so I know. And if it turns out you're using a map I don't have, I'll get back to you if I can't find it.

Here is an example of how a textfile can look: (remember, demonames can be whatever as long as they are the same in the textfile)

Code: Select all

nick: SAFT|netrex

demo001: (map: Pro-Q3DM6)
- 02.30
- 03.15
- 10.00

demo002: (map: ZTN3DM2)
- 05.50
- 07.20
If you have demos with tricks in them and there is only one trick in the demo, you don't need to have it in the textfile, but if the demo is long with maybe one or several tricks, please put it in the textfile so I can find it faster. Times don't have to be 100% accurate, but please no more than 5 or 10 seconds before the highlight is.

If you have uploaded your file, and figure out later that you have more demos you want me to look at, upload it again with a number at the end so you won't overwrite what is already uploaded. If your first file was PieceMaker.rar, then make the next PieceMaker2.rar or something similar. Whatever is ok as long as the nick is there and it doesn't overwrite it.

I won't delete the files after download unless I run out of space. At least not before the date of submission is reached. This date haven't been set yet.

Remember:

If you find spectacular highlights in older demos there is nothing wrong with submitting this also. I see no reason for it to be only new frags in this movie.

I think that should be all. Let me know if I've overseen something, or if you have any problems with the upload.

Yeah, should be enough I think. I can accept after that also, but that's the date I'll start putting stuff together, so can't garantee that stuff submitted after that date will have a place in the movie.

How does that sound?

Sounds like a well put-together deal nextrex. :icon14:

I probably won't have anything to send. But I'll look thru what I have
for something special. ;)

You're putting alot into this one netrex. I hope this works out. It
sure is starting out very well setup. Nice one guys.

I was smiling when I saw you used my name as an example file name.. hehe.

*waves* Ahhhh 1 of 2 drivers are back. Time to write some stuff up and wait
for the second driver to get here.
