Need Motherboard Oppinions

Post by Mr.Magnetichead »

I'm looking to soon upgrade my PC again and I need to get myself a new MB.

I've been looking at the Gigabyte K8N Pro SLi nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-038-GI) and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them or had an opinion on them? I need it to support my 6800gt well as well as something close to a Athlon 3.5 gig processor.

You mean 2.5 GHz Athlon right? I've never owned a Gigabyte, but most people seem to enjoy them. Personally I would recommend an ABit mobo. Also since AMD is releasing their new processors next year with the DDR2 support and all it might be best to wait and see what the new product lines are if your current computer isn't that bad off

Get the Asus A8N SLI Deluxe. It's a rock solid board, you'll be able to anything you want with it and more. Go check it out. It's quite impressive.

Basically ABit, Asus, Gigabyte and MSI all make rock solid boards with good features. I also like Intel boards, of course for Intel systems only, but I've worked with a few and they seem pretty solid, not many features and not that cheap, but overall a good performer.
