what programs do i NEED to start level designing for Quake3

:confused: plz help me get started in Quake 3 level design, can u tell me what programs to use and where to download them, im a total newb so can u tell what tools i need to?
im trying to learn how to level design for Quake 3 can anyone help me? tell me what programs to download so i can get started?

Radaint, Q3map2, and Q3map2 Toolz.
You'll find links to all 3 programs here

Radaint is the Level Editor, while q3map2 is the compiler...and q3map2 toolz is what you use to compile the map. Maks it alot easier than having to type in exactly how you want to compile.

Once you get all that downloaded, install them. Put the Q3map2 (will have alot of numbers in the file name) folder somewhere like C:\Program Files\Q3map2, and the first time you load q3map2 toolz you will have to show it where you have everything installed.
