movies that had an impact on me:
watched predator alone at night, with all lights off, at 1am when i was around 12 or 13. I had previously seen a couple of schwarzenegger flicks and having just fallen in love with "commando", I asked the video store clerk for any other good schwarzenegger flicks.
I was quite confused at the beginning when it showed a shot of earth from space and a small spaceship. I thought the store clerk had made an error.
But then arnold showed up and I knew I was in for a treat. Little did I know how intense that treat would be... yeesh. fucking LOVED it though
A couple years later, I saw Hellraiser on tv - and i remember feeling clammy by the end of it - i had lost a lot of colour on my skin.
Similar thing when I watched Event Horizon in the theatre with my sister. Except she being the the freak she is, thought it was cool!
Cube was quite an interesting thriller - made you really uncomfortable the whole time.
Mothman Prophecies had some spine tingling moments.
There was this one sci-fi movie from the 80's - i forget the title, but it's about this kid who is awesome at this video game. And this human looking alien comes down to earth and takes him up to space in this red ferrarri. The game that the kid was good at was apparently a recruitment device or something. They needed this kid to fight some battles. Anyway, they leave a clone of him behind so his friends and family don't get worried, and the clone takes a few hours to physically transform into his "twin". There's this scene where the mother or someone opens the kid's door, and tells him to wake up, and as she leaves the room, you see the half-transformed clone roll over in bed and you see its face. It fucking horrified me!

I would love to think I'm brave enough, but I really think I'd have a painc attack or something...I've been snorkeling and the mouth-breathing makes me feel panicky. that, combined w/ sharks could possibly do me in!!![xeno]Julios wrote:if you ever get the chance to swim with a shark in the wild, take the opportunity. It may well change your views of them.

they're beautiful creatures and really quite harmless (in general) if you're not foolish. I actually felt safe and protected when I saw one - it was like a steward of the ocean.ScooterG wrote:I would love to think I'm brave enough, but I really think I'd have a painc attack or something...I've been snorkeling and the mouth-breathing makes me feel panicky. that, combined w/ sharks could possibly do me in!!![xeno]Julios wrote:if you ever get the chance to swim with a shark in the wild, take the opportunity. I know, it's crazy. I always find people who are afraid of flying really weird becasue it's so much safer than driving!+JuggerNaut+ wrote:funny how some people are so afraid of sharks, yet they have no problems climbing in a car and hitting the streets.
Odd that Jaws makes us afraid of Sharks, but Christine didn't makes us afraid of cars....

Swam with manta rays, turtles, and all sorts of fish. Only managed to see one shark - was gorgeous.
