I've been playing games online for about 6 years now, but I still havn't experienced the greatness of a LAN game.
I have 2 computers with Win XP and similar hardware configurations. We don't plan on playing up to date games, but we do plan on playing Serious Sam 1 + 2, Quake 1+ 2+ 3, and maybe some Unreal games if we are in the mood.
Only difference is:
AMD Athlon 2800+ and an AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Geforce 4mx 64mb Inter- Geforce 6800 128mb 8x
512 PC2700 - 1gb PC3200
Ok, so far I've set the computers up so that they both have internet access. I have both computers hooked up by ethernet cables to a Netgear router. I have all updates + games on each computer and now I just need to know how to play on a Lan game. Since I've never done this before, I have no clue what to do. created a lan game in freeware shooter called Soldat. Now, when I hop on the other computer and search for games by using the Lan -only filter, nothing comes up.
So... I know theres something wrong, but I don't know where to start. Any help would be great.
2 computer LAN games?
