Winternals ERD

Post by corpse »

I know someone who has a forgotton password, and someone esle who has a valid copy of ERD with the locksmith thing.

I'm not sure but I think Ive read that if you use this to change the password you will lose access to most files.

Is this correct? Hoping some of you have used it and know.

Any encrypted files will be lost by resetting the passwrod since it will break the link between the private and public keys. Just out of curiousity, how do you manage to find so many people with major computer problems?

Look up EFS (Encrypting File System) on XP.
