There's going to be a new socket for AMD processors coming out soon next year. IMO wait and upgrade to that rather than going from a 754 to a 939

edit : Its called the "M2"

I was about to dump a shitload of money for a 939 4000+, an ABit mobo and a 7800GTX but then I heard about the M2s on here and am now patiently waiting. Hopefully the first M2s will be the only M2s, meaning not another crappy type like 754 and 940 and then come out with the netter 939, hopefully AMD will pick an architecture and stick with it for the life of the M2

I'm just curious, for you guys that had 3000+ chips previously, how do you find a merit to upgrade so soon? For me, it would have to be at least a double speed before I blow the cash on it.

And 3DMark is what counts, right? :p

I'm sitting on my P4 2.4C until M2. I just hope DDR2 actually offers a benefit by then. sigh...

Nah its the way games run and unfortunalty i dunno if everything
will run great on my machine. So an extra "1ghz" will give a right
good kick up the arse to anything that comes near it me thinks :D
