My damn taskbar won't auto hide. When I select it and hit apply it hides but when I close out of it the damn thing pops back up. Any ideas?

You have a process running which is requesting it be shown?
Perhaps try closing all the items on your system tray one by one and seeing if this kills it.
Also try CTRL-ALT-DEL and kill explorer.exe.. then reload it with file > run
