The last movie you saw
Saw today:
Red Eye - Not as bad as I thought it was going to be (was expecting a lot less action a lot more drama.. and that Cillian fellow looks like a mongoloid).
Actually plays out very well. Unfortunately there are no twists to the plot which it needed to pull through the last hour.
5/10
Dukes of Hazzard - A little worse than I anticipated. Not as funny as it should have been and certainly not a patch on Starsky and Hutch.
3/10
The Longest Yard - Completely pulp, but enjoyable nonetheless. Some reasonable acting from Sandler and various nobodies, but was severely let down by Chris Rock. Unless he drops his comedy accentuation in his voice (which belongs on the circuit, not on the screen), he's not going to fit into many roles except a select few (Dogma worked because he was effectively preaching through the movie, which isn't that far removed from what you do in a comedy routine.
5/10
Not the best day at the cinema, but I get in free so no worries.

Yeah just watched it myself. IMO a really good flick that I got drawn into and I couldn't help but sympathise with the characters.StarShrieker wrote:so that "Crash" movie just came out on dvd for $17 or so. Having yet to see it, I may purchase it. Anyone here seen it?
8.5/10, it lost 0.5 because it left me feeling depressed afterwards. I know films aren't necesarily meant to be uplifting though, but I've had a crap day

Fear and Loathing in Las Vega's - 9/10
Fantastic
Depp and Del Toro are both brilliant, good take on the book and did its best.
So many quotes from this film
"Let's get down to brass tacks. How much for the ape?"
"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."
"A drug person can learn to handle such things as seeing their dead grandmother crawling up their leg with a knife in her teeth. But no one should be asked to deal with this trip."
"Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?"
"We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole multi colored collection of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon"

It starts pretty well and goes on alright for a good while, but then it keeps going when it turns into a crappy love story, if they'd dropped about 20 minutes it would have been better.Pauly wrote:The 40 year Old Virgin
Not bad. Not as funny as I thought.
