Post by reefsurfer »

Good news:
We ARE releasing Serious Sam II. It will ship on October 10th

Bad news (US only..so far)
it will only come out on CD, We are not releasing a DVD version
How retarded is that?.. whats the price on a fucking DVD these days? 20 bucks? jeeez...
Hope its not gonna be like UT2004.. with FIVE! fucking cd's...and one play disc. :dork:

UT2004 was released as a 5-disc set, and a DVD special edition with 2 DVDs.

Later down the line, a DVD standard edition was released on a single DVD.

The DVD version was initially a very limited edition that contained the modtools, Maya PLE and a big bunch of video tutorials.

It was later re-released in a not so limited edition due to popular demand.

EDIT: damn post snipers

The US seems to be hopelessly behind when it comes to DVD penetration. Hopefully there will be a euro DVD release.

Unfortunally(i hope its not true) i talked to a friend owning a gamestore today.. he said that the puplisher hasent released ANY commercial products like posters etc, nor given an release date... which they do 99% of the time this close to a release...
According to rumors its a month til release.. and if he and no other stores have been given anything about Q4 this close to release, it means its not coming in October.

Another thing is.. Xbox 360 release date is nov. 22nd in US and dec. 2nd in Europe.. its most likely that Q4 will be their release title.. so dont scream yes just yet.. :tear:

LOL BUY.COM always fucks things up I tried to order and they are listing DVD rom. Bastards did the same thing with the pre-release of Doom III. They have the best price, but their pre-order is all retarded...

Heh, been waiting on Prey since 95 I think? I was putting it on the same list as Duke Nukem Forever. It looked amazing back then, looks ok now. I'll probably get it, for nostalgic value if nothing else. On the other hand SS2 looks to be quite fun on par with the other 2.

On a side note, finally got Painkiller and played through about half of it. Must say a bit over the top but just as fun as I thought it would be. Not real consistant on content but fuck it...

So anyway... SS2 stands for System Shock 2, and Serious Sam can suck a fat one :)
