Perhaps once registered by the Quakeworld team but unused because they use http://www.quakeworld.net/ ?
Hell no... if any of you ever get a domain name that ends up having a few thousand hits a month (or week) try and keep hold of it, or better yet turn it into a 'ad page', if you let the name go someone else will and they'll make money from your initial hard work getting the name known.Lenard wrote:Hmmm... You'd think they'd let it go by now... I mean... damn.
quakeworld.com looks like another 'steal' by network solutions
Think there's plenty of people trying to claim 'place holders' like this, in the hope of being bought out at a high price.
Obviously it didn't work in this case.
The people interested already know where to go and don't go blindly punching URLs.
Moguls, like Microsoft, would pay them off and let the URL resolve to their home page.
