question about aspirin and pain relievers in general.
long story short, do they provide pain relief through the means of blocking the sensory that allows you to feel the pain or do they infact treat the initial problem which caused the pain in the first place?
there is an important distinction between the two.

k that one is obvious but what about an aspirin for the common head ache?tnf wrote:no they don't treat the problem that causes the pain (if we are talking backaches, etc.) Muscle relaxers are a different thing, and medications designed for migraines, etc...
so essentialy the damage continues to progress...
in effect I'm not solving any problems, I'm just ignoring them quite selfishly at that

aspirin inhibits the production of prostaglandins which is where the pain relief comes from.
I took vics with maxalt and imitrex since they caused hypertension in every muscles and sinus. I raced for bed everytime I took imitrex just so I could sleep before it would start.
Propranolol worked great, but I sleeping 12 hours a day, minimum. Any lower of a dose and it was useless.
With vics, at least I felt nothing and felt great.

oh i don't disagree that the vics are effective...i was just saying that there are migraine medications that aren't narcotics...Dante wrote:I took vics with maxalt and imitrex since they caused hypertension in every muscles and sinus. Hope you are not too ''malade'' sick my friend.
Just want you to know that even a little aspirin, things like acetaminophen don't always mix very well with other medications and even some natural herbal or vitamins.
Weird but check withh your pharmacist or doctor. Most people don't know about this as they think that it is sold without a prescription like candies and they get more headeache because they are mixing them with other medication and it become a whell.
