Online for free version?

I just downloaded quake 3 from http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_d ... 100,00.asp not sure if its a demo or what, Is there a way to play multi player on it? I tryed but "No servers found" on any option I click :O.

You might need to use a 3rd party server browser. all seeing eye is good.

Well the download is 50Mb, which makes it a demo version.

Download ASE from here: http://videogames.yahoo.com/multiplayer

It is a tool used to find games going on online. You should be able to configure it for the Q3 Demo, and use it to find games!

There probably won't be many demo servers still running though. So if you want more games, grab the full version for like £5/$8

Thank's for the quick reply, I d/led the ASE thing, but what do I do with it? Im quite confused, Do I open quake first or use programe first? ^^

Open the program. You configure the program to recognise quake 3 demo (refer to the program's help/documentation for this), then find servers and it launches the game for you.

You can but only on demo servers.

Can anyone explain how the online demo works? I was playing online but when I logedof then reloged back on it say's "No master server found" and didn't work utill I uninstalled and played it like 6hours later >_>;;

master server not found is a common problem using the in-game server browzer.
as people here have pointed out ASE is a better way of finding servers .. personally i always liked
