btw to everyone who commented on the rail tracks. those are actually wall/floor piping textures hipshot is using as railtracks. iirc there is a rail track decal too. nice work getting the curves in too. oh, and there's a track switching model, i'm sure of it, in props_trainstation if you're interested. or you could use the large ravenholm lever model

this is my latest on that front:

i'm rebuilding it as i wasn't happy with the displacements in some parts but this will pretty much be what it will look like

it's half-life2. call of duty wouldn't look anything like as good. notice how no one's made any CoD SP maps? there was a mod team working on a market garden campaign but it seems to have run aground because no one outside infinity ward understands the scripting.

No, still dont like the Screenshots for representing purposes.
There is too much dynamic ingame atmosphere/action, which cant be caught on this stills...

Maybe I should have mentioned that the link was originally by you :icon25:

paul jaquays said he was going to figure it out for one of his classes and maybe release the results of his research publicly. dunno if anything happened with that, and frankly at this moment i don't care. scripted events in hammer are a breeze

edit: i stand corrected. it looks like market garden will be released soon after all

you know, I'm no pro mapper like you all, I just have that much
mapping experience, I need to survive as a quake programmer,
but I wanted to show you what I did the last 2 days: Q3DM17 as a CTF map.

I've played a few dm17 to ctf conversions, but they where all buggy,
and made no fun, so I tried to rework it, and with the help of my clan,
it has become pretty fast and funny :)

Looks like the way I do, extrude edge.
For me the best method to get a quick good looking head or whatever.. nice so far just hold on for practicing.

Dude, that is the worst map I have ever seen. Seriousley, stop making it and do not try again. Delete any map making or modeling utilities from your hard drive and forget you ever tried.

I already explained him that, but it seems he doesn't understand that he is not good at mapping and modeling. :icon25:

Looks a bit flat, not much egdes going on. Maybe work in a few different twists?
Also, the orange lighting is a bit overwhelming for me.
Otherwise, looks nice. :]
