Yeah like i said, you cant compensate for that really, not with the old old method the engine uses. TBH I got used to riddick/fear types, where your just a camera at X point on the body, so your view weapon is still detailed but you can see your legs. FOV doesn't matter so much then, but its a bitch to optimize i guess.rgoer wrote:yeah the in-view arms look a bit crap when you crank the fov
I play with g_fov 110 and ui_showgun 0 and all is well

A lot of the weaponry does bear a striking similarity to UT2004 weapons. The RG reminds me a lot of the shield gun.
But then if they'd gone for the Q3 simplistic look, the single player would have featured people running round with cartoon weapons. Woulda killed the buzz.
Mebbe we'll see some bonus material being released with game patches, like alternative weapon sets.

I dont think so... If id wouldn't do that, why would a third party raven do it...?
Yo ucan bet your ass virginity that we will see shit loads of "quake 3/2/1" model replacements popping up though.
Plus, an this is the part i'm looking forward too... Classic Quake levels ported to it with new bells/whistles. DM6 and DM13 are a must.

I am leaving for lunch right now though, and going by EB Games to see if I can convince them that they need to sell me a copy. :icon32:

Mirror
Nice video and so smallrgoer wrote:There is some MP footage (well, not so much "proper" mp footage as it is "one dude running around a couple of maps recording a demo"--but they are maps we haven't shown to the public before, so it's something new to see) available here:

If anybody can mirror these, it would be appreciated--I'm sure the intarweb will find out about these and this guy's server will melt by lunchtime.

Added the download here
