Although anyone who's ever had to deal with a full size rackmount that is literally full of 48-port 1u switches will know, there's no stopping that kind of shit building up unless you're willing to pump serious man hours into maintenance and developing standards. Which of course you should, but a lot of managers balk at that idea.

Velcro straps are the win. No bullnoses needed, and you can use them over and over and over.
Even racks full of 1U servers shouldn't look like that. If those are all switches (which I'm assuming they are), then they shouldn't cram them all into that many racks to begin with. Look at the shit you're going to have to deal with if just one of those switches goes out.
