well this is just one of a few problems but if i can get this fixed maybe i can fix the others on my own. when i plug my current monitor into my new vid card(msi 6600gt) it wont come on. the power light goes to orange as if the system is off when it is not. yet when i unplug it the power light comes on to green and the screen tells me to check if the cable is connected. why would this happen? thx in advance
monitor is a compaq fs740

Did you remember to plug the extra power connector into the vid card?

Exactly what model card was it?
Is this PCI-E or AGP?

So much for that theory.. :/
Tried testing the montior on another computer? Or testing the video card on another montior?
