Actually, I've read that Quake II was by far the best-selling of the Quake games. I personally don't like it nearly as much as Quake III, but yeah, it was definitely hugely popular, probably moreso than Quake III actually.

Nerve Software will join Raven Software in developing Castle Wolfenstein... Like they did for the previous game Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Nerve will be in charge of creating the game's multiplayer mode.
