SP Strogg-ified implants

Don't have the game yet, so I'm curious as to what exactly happens when you become Strogg-ified in the game? Meaning do you gain special abilities, improved vision, better weapon handling..? Or is it simply that you can interact with Strogg interfaces like computer terminals?

To be honest, I think it would have been better if they never revealed you get strogg-ified.. oh well.
