Diamondback problems in quake 4

Post by wuff »

Me and a friend have a problem with the razer diamondback in q4 (this is also present in doom 3 but not in any other game). When moving the mouse in any direction it will just freeze and stutter wich makes it totally unplayable. It only happens when you move the mouse faster then a certain speed and when you slow down the movement it just resumes from where it froze. So I was wondering if someone else has encountered the same problem or perhaps has a solution to it? The effect seems to be less prominent when I run a listen server wich is very odd.

I have currently switched back to an older intellimouse that works flawlessly but I really want to use my diamondback for obvious reasons. I have also tried both the windows standard mouse drivers and the razer drivers, aswell as a few mousefixes for windows.

I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

So you and your friend both have this exact same problem?

I've done a few searches and it's not a widely reported problem, so I think what you need to do is find the common elements between you and your friends setup.

Do you have the same motherboard? Are you using the same config in-game?

We have nothing in common in either hardware and software related, he has a p4, I have an athlon, he has an ati card and I have nvidia etc. There is nothing I have found that is related, it's very odd and I haven't talked to anyone else that has the same problem. Maybe I'll just hang around and wait and see if someone else reports the same problem and if there's no fix for it I'll just buy a new mouse.

I use diamondback plasma and I'm experiencing no trouble whatsoever. I'm not sure what to say, except ask you if you've got the latest drivers. :/
