Newbie problems.

I have just started to play Q3 and i have a problem. I installed the latest patch q3pointrelease_132.exe. Now when I join a server everything looks very strange. The hud is just gray and blurry and i can't play, only spectrate. Are the ones on the server using a different version than I. What can I do about this?

I've seen this happen before when you have a custom level/model/skin installed and it conflicts with some files that are installed with 1.32.

You can try deleting every file with a .pk3 extension in your \quakefolder\baseq3\ directory. Except the ones named pak0-pak10.pk3 (these are official Q3 files).

If you've not got any custom content installed, there are a few other things to try.

What other things are those i should try? I have no custom things at all. ;<

Scan the console for error messages (press the tilde in-game to pull it down).
