[SPOILER...kinda] Single Player Ending & Stuff

Post by Faust »

Am I the only one that felt a lilttle gypped at the end of the single player campaign? I mean, c'mon... don't tell me I have another mission, then end the game so I have to buy a mission pack. I loved the single player game; it just seemed to end so suddenly, and I felt as if I didn't really accomplish much. I'm a little bit disappointed, actually. I was expecting to have to blast the hell out of the big guy himself. *sigh* And I only experienced three crashes throughout the entire game; I'd say that's pretty good for a new release. Lastly, I was shocked at just how smooth this game ran on my laptop (yes, I said laptop) on High Quality. Here's some of my specs:

Intel Pentium M 2.13GHz processor
1GB RAM
GeForce Go 6800 Ultra (256MB)

On another note, I've only actually played about an hour or so of the multiplayer portion (mostly Deathmatch). It kind of felt clunky to me, but that was due in part to getting less than 30 FPS at times and the lack of quality servers.

Once they release a few patches, I think they'll have a gem on their hands.

Erm? You do. And he gets up for a second round.

Not really. You don't do any noticable damage to hiim. You just let him kill you to further the plot. That's not really what I had in mind.

I'm confused. The part you're talking about is barely a quarter of the way through the game, and you of course meet him again at the end.

Right, then you see him on monitors throughout the rest of the game. All I had to do to beat the game was blow up the giant brain. Which game are you playing?

Haha wait. What difficulty did you play it on?

I had it on the default difficulty. Don't tell me that you have to play it on the hardest difficulty to see the "real" ending. Damnit to hell and back!!!

Looks like it varies, if you just got the spinebrainMcthing and nothing else.

Well that's kinda weird, dontcha think? I would've thought the main boss would have to be beaten no matter what difficulty setting it was on. Damnit... I don't wanna play through that whole thing again.

Ok, just to clarify. Once you beat the brain thing, it goes to a scene where you're being congratulated by your mates. Then the guy in charge gets a phone call or whatever it was, and says he has another mission for you. Right? That's what I saw, then it went right to the credits.

In the version I played I had to take down the macron before I got to the brain.

Hrmm... I wonder if I killed him, and just didn't realize I did. Was he in the room with pillars that had things spinning around them towards the top? In the middle, it was pretty much wide open, and there were two floors to it. I kept nailing this "boss" with the Dark Matter gun (whatever it was called). Once his health meter was spent the first time, it recharged. Then I knocked it down again and killed him. Was this the end boss?

If you play it on hardest difficulty, you have to take down Pinky as well.
