can't get any server list
i bought q4 just for multiplayer but i keep trying to get new server list and refresh but nothing come up . PB is enabled
Okay.F4i wrote:its not the router for sure -because its came from ISP and theres no build in firewall and i play other games online before..
Go to the start button. Click on 'Run'. Then enter 'cmd' and hit enter.
A black box will come up. In this box type 'ipconfig /all'.
Then post the results from that in here (you can copy/paste the text out)
because if this comes up with the figures which I think it will, it *is* your router configuration. If it doesn't, then we've ruled it out.

Hey Foo, you remember when you told me how to set pc cillin for allowing ports? Well, how do I do it for allowing an ip address of a server I create? Is 'All IP addresses' in that box at the bottom of the image all that's required? And then just direct the Target box to the quake4.exe, right?

It's just an IP address, everyone has one and getting hold of it means shit. It's DHCP too, so it probably changes every night.
Anyway, I think we can rule out simple Router problems from that post, as said you have a 'real' internet IP.

so its my router problem? what kind of router would u suggest i should buyR00k wrote:Well I know, but you don't really want your IP posted in the same place where you tell everybody exactly what kind of firewall/security software you run, as well as your OS and other system info. It's just not good practice.
