the situation...
ok. i have an AMD 2200+, geforce 6600GT and 1gb ram. with my tweaked config im getting playable fps.. like around 45-55+, it slows down to 30 or so when alot of action is going on, but it's decent for my PC and what other people are claiming they're getting. on my own listen server i can get a constant 60 fps most of the time too, 50+ in open areas..
heres the thing. my roomate.. who has a 3200+, geforce 6800 and 1gb ram is using my exact config, same drivers (77.77) and hes getting around the same FPS that i am, cept around action he actually dips way lower then i do. like on a lan server we'll both get 60 fps, then he'll walk through a closed hallway (where i believe itd remain at 60) and it drops randomly to like 15-20 fps. it just seems weird that with identical setups (OS, drivers, configs) that his BETTER cpu/gfx card is having more FPS trouble then i am.
i know this is kind of broad, was just wondering if anyone had any opinions/suggestions? we even set our AGP settings in bios the same. i have NO idea why he can't at least maintain what i get during MP games.

weird FPS problem with my roomate and I ..
AA/AF ? what is that?
like i said he is running the EXACT cfg i am, we have identical setups except he has a 3200+ and a 6800gt and i only have a 2200 with a 6600gt. i could understand if we were using different drivers, cfg's, soemthing - but everything is the same.
yes he did a clean format just last night actually .. all updated drivers. i mean only other thing i could try as far as drivers is MOBO drivers.. i'll probably try that later tonight
and no, NO backround app's running at all
