Kung Fu Hustle - 7/10

Good action, even if over the top, it made for a unique style. Some funny parts too.

Sin City.

Woah, how the fuck did I miss this. Truely the greatest use of film noir ever. 10/10

Anyone know of a sequel in the works, or maybe special edition releases in the future?

2 sequels planned, 1 in the works.

the SE DVD version will be out in december, itll feature loads of extra footage; most prominently the 3 stories as 3 seperate feature (full length) films.

Kingdom of Heaven - 7/10

Well, I was kinda expecting Gladiator quality, but ended up a bit disappointed. I understand that this movie was less about telling a story and more about conveying some kind of message, but to be honest, that's not enough when trying to make a good movie.

Not fantastic but ok to waste an hour and a half to i spose...
the cgi-ish one? was it only an hour and a half? felt like bloody ages once the plot started getting in the way.

Sword in the Moon - 6/10

One of those asian costume drama / swordfighting things. Nice effects and lots of extras makes for a generally entertaining flick, but somehow i got bored of the whole thing near the end.

well-deserving of its reputation as the worst movie ever made. it has to be seen to be believed.

exorcist: the beginning.
5/10
worth watching just for the pre-title sequence.

suprisingly for a renny harlin movie - this isn't plodding, incoherent dogshit. even more suprisingly for a christian-themed movie, it isn't too badly riddled with the whole invisible friend thing either. Stellan Skarsgård is a great lead and plays up the detective feel to the story well.

had to look up that stellan bloke's name on imdb, then foolishly spent a minute or two browsing. is there some unwritten rule that you have to be a total fucking cretin to post there or what?

A History of Violence

7/10

The beginning dragged on a bit, and in the end it felt there just didn't happen enough.

They should have invested more time into Tom's conflict and less into his stupid son.

It's still a movie worth seeing though.

Flight of the Phoenix - 6/10 Not bad, a decent action movie. Predictable, with one decent twist. I'm glad I didn't spend the money to see it in the theater.

OK. I had expected it to be SO bad that I was actually surprised. 6.5/10...maybe even a 7/10. Don't want to ruin anything for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, so we can discuss later....
