Why they revisited that crappy railwhore map for Q4 is totally beyond me.

But I´m really looking forward to the q3dm6 and q2dm1 remakes.

Kaz, I'd PAY to see something of yours in the Q4 engine. Your maps are beautiful.

Yeah I've got something planned for Quake 4... I plan on taking the 18th off work so I can play it!!! :D

As for modding... i think Classic doom 3 may be my final endeavor. who knows... Maybe the game will be so good it will inspire me to join another team and rock out with some music.
The number 1 cause of death in games is panic.

Meh.

Evidently Q3W removed or deactivated my account or something. This is wviperw btw. :)

Good to see some old faces here. It is very nostalgic coming back to these forums after so long and seeing you all here in this thread. My Quake 3 mapping experiences are truly memorious (not a word) for me. I'll admit, Doom 3 was kind of a flop. Not the game itself, but for me, editing-wise, I never got anywhere. I think that was partially because the MP aspect wasn't really there like I wanted (especially competitive) and mostly just a time-constraint issue. But here on the eve (well, technically now the morn) of Q4 I just had a chance to look at Zombie13's in-game pics and I feel like it is all coming back to me. Truthfully, I haven't really been excited about Q4 until tonight. The MP screenshots are undeniably Q3-esque. And while part of me is sad that Q4 isn't really going to "innovate" (*cough* buzzword) with any new features, another part of me can't wait to relive my Q2 and Q3 experiences in a new engine (both play-wise and mapping-wise).

So yeah, I might think about mapping for Q4... We'll see. Gotta get the game first. ;)

Yeah, I've got some ideas that I'd like to try. I've started messing around with making a few textures and mapmodels in 3DS MAX. Currently the plan is to make a small DM map together with a custom texture set, and then recycle it in a more serious CTF map.

Probably.

Word has it that there will be significant demand for Team DM maps - nothing suitable for 4v4 TDM out of the box.

Hey ss, how are ya? :)

I've been so removed from the mapping scene I can't wait to see what people come up with for Q4.. Still haven't gotten to play the thing yet, maybe tonight. Hope it works ok on my dell 24"er, but I've heard q4 has problems hitting widescreen res's, I dunno.

I might take a stab at Q4 mapping. It'll depend on how much free time I can scrounge up.

So *you're* the one that I was playing. Yeah, I hadn't played Q3 for forever and just decided to hop on some servers last week for some reason.

So how's it feel getting schooled by a mapper? :p

Hey wvw! Long time no c.. Bragging? Naw cmon, hehe I'm serious! I'm going to pick up the monitor today and I've heard a) it ghosts in games, especially fast fps's and b) getting up to 1900xwhatever res. is not easy, my system was chugging at 1280 last night :(

by the way I enjoyed the MP game a LOT, and the maps were really cool and fun, I can't wait to get back home to play more. Sorry, Didn't mean to hijack. :icon25:

Yeah, I think I'll try my hand at a bit of q4 mapping. May just be the inspiration I've been waiting on. D3 almost did it, just not quite.

I'm going to finish a map that began it's life as a Q2 map so very long ago. Seems fitting to finish it in Q4, and it gives me a great excuse to do a hardcore Q2-style DM design.

Good to see so many of the veterans coming back. It's a good sign that Q4 is really catching on.

Yes, but the editor is a little buggy.
I wonder if Radiant will make a editor that will create Q4 maps?

I would suppose they will someday. When that happens I bet there will be alot of interest in making maps again.
