arrow keys in Q4

Post by waY2Kool »

i'm on a logitech keyboard. i'm not a WASD guy and have used arrows keys for ever (sure, laugh now, cry later). but anyway, Q4 only recognizes my arrows at 'left shift' - any ideas? i tried binding the movements to 'uparrow', etc in my autoexec but it doesnt help. this is with and without the logitech software that came with the kb.

this is weird, But what does it say Left shift is in quake 4?

also, do you have you're arrow keys binded within ituch for windows.

when i go to change my controls is Q4 - let's say i wanna change my forward movement from 'w' to the up arrow - when i hit the up arrow, Q4 calls it 'left shift', it does this for all 4 arrows.

the itouch software didnt have customization for the arrows. besides, even with the itouch uninstalled - Q4 responded the same way.

Are you sure you binded them correctly in your autoexec.cfg?

Here's an example:

bind w "_forward"
bind s "_back"
bind a "_moveleft"
bind d "_moveright"
bind SPACE "_moveup"
bind LEFTALT "_movedown"
bind LEFTSHIFT "_speed"
