My Sister will slap your pony ....

Post by BtlJuz »

Hiyas
.... if you can help me No Servers in browser connecting thro' router

Dont think its a Firewall prob have tried with it up down etc.

think its something to do with my adsl router assigning me a default ip 10.0.0.*. using DHCP

When I try and conn to a known server ip I am left waiting for authorisation and I can see the game sees me as having 10.0.0.* as my internet addy, which cant be right.

How do I get this sorted ... although Quake 3 I notice sees me as 10.0.0.* and I play fine there. :icon23:

Am no noob I was a member of the Beginers Discussion Initiative BDI Clan back in the days ..sigh.

My sister is cute I am told. :icon25:

Try forwarding ports? I'm not exactly sure what port numbers quake4 is using but perhaps this is what's preventing you from connecting.

If you have a software firewall try to turn it off, otherwise figure out which ports quake4 is using and forward them. Also you can try running in DMZ mode.

Ive tried opening ports thing 28004 and 27*** summit.

Plus I have no luck with ports opened (is that the same as forwarding ports) in firewall or with the firewall disabled.

Besides XP always tells me if it blocks anything and this has not happened.

Has anyone connected okay with a Origo (or Safecom) 4 - port ADSL modem router No4114

The router has its own SP1 firewall (also disabled) but I notice in the log it still loads it...

PLEASE HELP OR POINT ME WHERE I CAN FIND ANSWER

Sure:
http://www.portforward.com/english/rout ... 4index.htm

This is the page for port forwarding for your router. Now, the details given there are only list Quake 2 and 3, but you should be able to adapt the procedure for Quake 4. You seem like an intelligent and adaptable person :icon14:

28004 is one

should ports cover a range 28004 to 29008 for instance
