A plan on rebuilding a system, confirmation is the game

Post by Hr.O »

Current setup:
1 pata drive 20GB c: with not much more then windows XP-pro
2 sata drive 160GB d: 80GB for program files and data, 80GB for linux. linux is covered (Not enough data to even be bothered about)

plan is to shuvv data to old pata drive, repartition sata drive in three bits: winsys(+/-5GB), winprogs/data(75GB), linux gets the rest.
reformat winsys and winprogs
shuvv data to winprogs
remove pata drive
set booting stuff in bios
reinstall windows and winapps
Get busy on linux.

i have backups of all apps i use
Linux will be 9.3

To ask the Questionl; is there anything i overlooked, pittfalls and stuff?

you might be right, my current swapfile resides on d: got to take that in account. 'll up that partition to 10GB (currently used is +/-4.5 GB hence the 5GB)

thanks, one pitfall down, probably many more to go :)
