Disable blood/gibs?

Post by Mogul »

Is there a way to disable blood/gibs in mp? Heck, while I'm at it, is there a way to disable rocjet trails?

Are you joking? Bloods already sparse as it is. To little of it. If I gib somebody, nothing comes from him, compared to how it looks in SP.

If anything here should be MORE blood.

I seem to recall gibbing people, but no blood coming out... Hmmm...

I shall test this after afternoon breakfast. :icon32:

Maybe this has to do with high quality effects and decals? :)

I'm not sure there is a command to disable gibs, I don't recall seeing them. Probally not paying attention.

See if g_decals "0" disables them, yes I know it's for decals.

Decals are temporary items like bullet marks on the walls. Usually you can turn them off, set how long they'll stay or how many you'll keep at any time. The more you have the more your client will have to deal with. Well, that's how I understand them anyway.

Yeah decals are basicly bullet/burn marks your weapon leaves, I'm just wondering if they also stop blood/gibs since I cannot find any other command.

Also g_decals has little to no performance loss, but I still turn them off.

technically speaking decals are not limited to that, but that's one way of how decals are used dynamically
