sorry for the long post but this is what i get when i try and olay quake 3. I bought and installed it on windows xp home. Am i not doing something that's preventing me from playing? Someone please help.
I'm A real noob to playing quake 3 in windows xp--help.
i tried the left+alt+enter command on q3 startup, but it didn't do anything. In the display tab the device info was all N/A except the
display mode(1024x768) The driver info was as follows:
Main Driver:vga.dll
Version:5.01.2600.0000
WHQL Logo'd: Yes
Mini VDD:vga.sys
VDA:n/a
DDI Version:unknown
and the notes were:
The system is using the generic video driver. Please install video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.
DirectDraw test results: All tests were successful.
Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer.

get the make and model number of your motherboard.
it will be printed somewhere on it.
while you have the case off see if you can see any writing on the intergrated video card.
without physically looking at the mobo and video card you will not be able to tell who made the video card.
windows cannot seem to detect it and to be honest if it's an intergrated card it's not gonna be very good.
consider upgrading to a better video card "one you can easily afford"
once you know who made it and the model then we can help you get the drivers for it.
there is a tiny chance this software might be able to get some info
for you
