When something freezes on my pc, I can't actually get to the end task button. For instance, Quake 4 froze when I pressed the disconnect button after speccing the q4w server, ( because it was very busy and lagging my pc badly) .
alt + enter didn't work at that time, alt + tab showed my desktop taskbar but my mouse cursor was unavailable and I couldn't get to it, and ctrl, alt, delete showed my tasks running including quake4. I couldn't end task on Q4 because of the mouse being unavailable. All I could do was scroll up and down highlighting the tasks with my up and down keys and I could also press enter but this didn't end any tasks. Is there a key that allows me to get to buttons such as end task, cancel, next, etc in the event of a program freezing? Otherwise I generally have no choice but to press reset. I somehow managed to get the pc to shutdown by the normal method tonight, but no idea how. Do I need to enable some keyboard thing in accessories/accessabilty? I remember there was something like that in win98.
