I uploaded the map to our server, and I really liked it! Others liked it too. Nice job on the map.

Although it's a great map, I noticed a problem not necessarily with the map, but how the server runs once custom map is uploaded. I think someone mentioned this above. I didn't notice anything issues until people who didn't have have the map could not join my server even when we were not playing one of the custom maps.

Is there any work around or do I have to create a map rotation and if I do create a map rotation, will this allow users who do not have the map connect to my server when we are not playing that custom map? If not, will allowing downloads (if possible) from my server allow people who do not have the maps to join even when we are not playing that specific custom map?

I know, questions, questions, questions... thanks in advance.

No, server downloads are broken/only half implemented and regardless if you set a rotation, unless your clients have the same files as on the server, they can't connect.

The way I've dealt with this is to -

1) Upload any custom files to a web server, using dir names the same as the q4 dir names to place the custom files in (e.g. maps would go into http://blah.com/q4base while the instagib mod files could be found in http://blah.com/instagib)

2) add these lines to my server cfg (or if running multiple servers, write a new cfg, call it autodownload.cfg or something like that, and call it from all of your server cfg's)
set net_serverDownload "1" //ask to redirect clients to URL below
set si_serverlURL "http://blah.com" //base URL of missing files

3) make posts in our clans forums of the exact files that have been added and when, since the above will redirect clients when they have missing files but not actually tell them WHICH files they are missing.

Not the greatest way to do things but the only way short of NOT using custom files that I can see.

Keeping on topic, I like the map Kiltron, fast gameplay on it. I read your above comments on the teleporters not moving projectiles, but I was personally looking forward to seeing some maps that took advantage of this aspect of play. Have to agree tho, your map wouldn't run with it too well.
