Monitor problem

Post by Hendrix »

Well I woke up this morning to find my monitor in power save mode, with the screen blacked out. Problem is I cannot get it out of powersave mode,

or standby or whatever the mode is.

When I push some of the panel buttons on the monitor a message pops up saying "the monitor is is standby mode, hit any key or move mouse to return"

So I do so, but apparently my keyboard and my mouse are also not functioning. Can't even get the cap locks key and num lock key lights to go off and on when I hit them.

Multiple reboots have done nothing to help as the keyboard and mouse still seem dead, and the screen remains black every time.

I have tried unplugging the mouse and keyboard, unplugging the monitor. nothing has worked.

any suggestions?

Unplug the tower and monitor then plug 'em in and power it up. It should solve the problem.

Nope, didnt work. Its wierd.
On bootup the monitor just goes to standby immediately, and my keyboard and mouse still seem to cease to function. No lights on the caps on/caps on key, nothing.

any other ideas?

No, its not. I just hooked up my roomates flat panel to the comp and the same exact thing happen. Sits in standby mode.

I think the problem is with the computer itself and not the monitor, maybe there is something causing a signal to not be sent out.

Tap F8 during the boot process until the boot menu displays then select Last Known Good Configuration.
