It'd be nice if there were a fair use sampling of songs we could click on anytime someone posts the name of a song followed by artist (or vice versa). A forum feature possibly....

These types of threads would be complimented nicely with the use of WASTE. It didn't particularly take off last time when Foo tried to get a network going, but it would be just the thing for instant gratification.

http://last.fm/

on a forum I admin (http://popcornassault.com/ -- don't blame me for the clientele) it includes last.fm integration, as you can see in my profile.

If you wanted to take it one step further, you can grab each user's top 50 played tracks, and top 50 played artists, and compile it into a massive page, and see what's the most popular artists among q3w'ers, most popular tracks, genres, etc.

Pretty nifty stuff, indeed.

you can do this (or at least what i think you're saying) in winamp by setting up a "Global Hotkey" (such as CTRL+ALT+P), and link that to "Copy song name + artist to clipboard", then post it straight into the thread. I used to do this back when i used winamp, it's a shame iTunes doesn't have anything like this.
