Its a long story, but how can I get this to work? I need to put a file from the winxp machine onto the win98 machine, I've connected them with a parallel (printer) cable. There are no other means of connecting them together.

Laplink was the shiznit, back in the day, but i'm not sure what support (if any) it has with windows XP.
"Back in the day" being DOS and windows 3.1 days... backing up files at a blistering (probably) 512KB/s (if that). good times.

Quake 1 over a null-modem cable.
Took a lot of messing to get it to work, but we did.
