LokiTorrents suit was a hoax?

Post by Eraser »

fucked

http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/02/24/1912208

Recently earthreactor.com published an article stating that the whole Loki Torrent suit was a fraud and that it was all staged to collect donations toataling in the tens of thousands then sell the domain. "It seems that the owner of LokiTorrent decided to take the donation money and run, and to cover his tracks, scare the hell out of the entire p2p community. The scare tactic was probably nothing but a decoy to convince intelligent people not to ask the right questions

Tried reading further down the page? Apparently it's not proven to be a hoax.

Notice the question mark at the end of the topic title?

a note on the "hampers creativity" part of the MPAA replacement site -- me and some mates were having a discussion about this, we came to the conclusion that we'd rather see an original, funny film created by people who don't have multi-million dollar publisher backing -- no more shitty bond films, over-hyped and over-advertised tasteless movies with too much CG, etc; more original films created on low budgets (Kevin Smith/Jason Meues movies, Super Troopers/Broken Lizard movies, countless others) and will also call upon lesser-known directors/writers/actors who don't need or want millions of dollars just to create a film, but who do it for the pure love of it.

as far as i can see, if most larger publishers/distributors were to go out of buisness or be forced into smaller budgets, it could only be a good thing.

Look. There's articles on the mpaa website which refer specifically to the LokiTorrent case. Either the mpaa themselves are comitting fraud on this issue, or there was a lawsuit.
