FIXES & UPDATES IN 1.0.4.0:

GENERAL:
- Copied map files can now be overwritten/deleted without quitting first.
- The console command "com_allowconsole" will stay set after leaving the game.

INTERFACE:
- Improved Game Browser sorting and filtering: You can sort by up to three criteria, which will be displayed just under the server list, with the more recently clicked criteria sorting first. For example, to sort by ping time, then number of players, then gametype, click them in the reverse order:
Click "GAMETYPE," then "PLAYERS," then "PING." The server list will be sorted by the fastest ping, then the servers with the fewest players, then the gametype.
Clicking a category more than once will keep its position as
the primary sorting criteria, but will change the sorting order.
After cycling through all available sort types, clicking the category a final time will remove it from the sorting. Each criteria has specific behavior with one or two clicks, as listed:
Favorite Server: Display only favorites, or only non-favorites.
Password Enabled: Display only locked server, or only unlocked servers.
Dedicated Server: Display only Dedicated servers, or only Listen servers.
Punkbuster Enabled: Display only PB-enabled servers, or only PB-
disabled servers.
Server Name: Sort server names A to Z, or Z to A.
Ping: Sort by ping Low to High, or High to Low.
Players: Sort by Players High to Low, High to Low (non-full), Low to High, or Low to High (non-empty).
Gametype: Sort by Deathmatch, Team DM, Tournament, CTF, or Arena CTF.
Map: Sort by map CTF1 to DM9, or DM9 to CTF1.

- The Game Browser now displays more than 1000 servers.
- Fixed a problem with the refresh time on the Game Browser.
- Added a Game Browser filter for full or empty servers.
- Players can now connect to a server while the Game Browser is refreshing.
- Game Browser sorting will display the correct server information without the need to refresh the list.
- Clicking anywhere on the scrollbar except the button itself will advance a page up or down instead of shifting to that position.
- Non-full server sorting now disregards full servers.
- Game Browser hover window updates when sort order is changed.
- Fixed a Game Browser slowdown issue with high numbers of servers.
- Added Game Browser server list scrolling with the mousewheel, keyboard arrows up/down, and keyboard Page Up/Page Down.
- The Game Browser hover window will only appear when mousing over a highlighted server.
- Sorting by server name will now ignore colored names, brackets, etc.

MULTIPLAYER:
- The dedicated server window will now be titled with the si_name setting instead of "Quake 4".

With the emphasis on crap, as I noted in the other thread. =)

A little disappointed about the fix list (I think there are things more important than the game browser).

At least I can put my cd away since the cd check seems to be gone now :)

Added that link in preference to my own tracker. No sense to having 2 trackers for the same file.

Since the other thread was locked:

This is a joke right? They just decided not to mention the "Under the hood" stuff I hope. If downloading of maps in game is STILL broken I'm gonna scream.

Depends. This patch might be the small fixes they had time to do. Better to release a small patch than store all the small fixes up for a bigger patch later?

Sure, as long as they are all backward compatibly as this one was.

Still waiting on a .plan of some kind personally. Actually thats not true, I am waiting to get home and see if there are any fixes which I can find quickly, then I will be waiting for the mod teams to do their thing... :tear:

Anything worthwhile will undoubtably break backwards compatability, as is I wont even download this patch as I dont use the ingame browser anyway, like most people who play the game I would expect.

It is good for new bodies though, but will they even find the patch? :dork:

I wont even complain about my normal issues, FPS, sound, shoddy console, which I now expect is unsupported = not going to fix?, but instead will mention 2 critical things.

1. You cannot connect to a server you do not have all the files for.
2. You cannot autodownload said files.

The community can and will improve this game exponentionally, however haveing those 2 things happen gives everyone, especially the new blood to the game, a quick kick to the sack. :tear:

Either way ill say again. Thanks for the SDK.

We are also working on a larger, required update that will address a broader range of reported issues in both multiplayer and single player.

Now that's handy.

As long as that fixes the crash to desktop issue, along with the way Quake 4 keeps shutting down and starting up when trying to connect to some servers (I assume it's got something to do with not having "mod" game files) than I'm happy. After that they can just tweak performance and netcode and some small things like autodownload (I honestly hate it, filling up my directory with files I don't want).

How about hey fix the editor just randomly NOT saving your work after it tells you it has, thus forcing you to lose the past 97 hours of work?

o'dium, could that have something to do with it? If I'm understanding this fix right, it makes me believe before the fix "Saving" with the same file name wouldn't overwrite the old file. Sounds like it could be your same problem. Does it not?

Yeah, I have to wait less time to find that no one's playing CTF on any servers near me. \o/

My mod's coming along nicely. I made it write "Hello world" to my console...

Aye it does.

And I like the sound of it :D

However, somebody needs to tell them its nto just maps, its everything. Even editing particles, i can come back to one i saved before with editFx and guess what? "Hi, all your changes you made were great! But we just lied about saving them, so your back to square one!"

ok so with all the browser changes they made, they still didnt add a "stop" button, nor does the browser save the pinged list after you join a server or do whatever outside the browser.
werent these 2 of the biggest annoyances of the q3 browser? :dork:

You mean those thing weren't included in Q3 earlier ("because Q3 says press space to stop" now)?
