Which one? I took the general and the biology.Nightshade wrote:Fuck, I really need to study for the GRE.
General wasn't too bad actually - I only missed 1 problem on the analytical section. For some reason, though, I did shittier than expected on the quantitative (math) section - but I attribute that to the fact that I almost shit my pants while taking the test and had to go so bad I began just answering every question with letter B or other random stuff.
Was a horrible time for a wicked stomach ache.
The biology GRE wasn't too bad either - one of those tests where if you don't answer a question it doesn't help or hurt you...but obviously you need to do a fair amount from each broad subject - I think the sub areas were molecular biology, evolutioary biology, ecology, plant biology...can't remember for sure though...that one I scored in the 93rd percentile or something...or is it the 7th percentile...I was in the top 7%...however you say that.'
As for preparation - the only prepping I did for the general one was take a stack of vocab words that someone had prepared already and just carry them in my pocket with me, thumbing through them whenever I had down time to hone my latin and greek roots and my vocabulary in general so I wouldn't be looking at a question where it said -
"somefuckignwordIdon'tknow" is to "someotherfuckignwordIdon'tknow" as
a) bananas are to condoms
b) shit is to waffles
c) yeast infections are to paper mache
I actually spent more time preparing for the MCAT, which I ended up not taking...

I'll be taking whichever one is applicable for admission to the EE grad program. I got myself a study guide, it has several practice tests as well as online content and some material I can d/l to my PDA.
I can't believe I'm actually going to graduate next year. I'm really psyched because my advisor told me that I can do my Senior design project on my own. I was NOT looking forward to working with a bunch of asshats on a project that didn't interest me. I start doing research in the Spring semester, implementation next Fall. I have to knock out two stupid fucking electives next summer, damn waste of time. Spring '07 I start grad school, and get to finish my math BS at the same time.
