Anything else you have changed from the default?

What value helped you and what does this command do?
I assume it's the max number of sounds your soundcard will process at the same time. My setting is 32 and haven't had a problem yet. I use an very old sb live btw.

Excellent! I will try your setting.

I also have a sb live and it's very old. Probably about 6 years old heh.

Some claimed that there are no problems with Audigy 2 ZS or Open AL supported cards.

The positional sounds are rthere with Open AL cards as they said in this thread.

Let's spend more money on this game shall we? :)

You can get them for around $60.00-$70.00 now I believe.

It's too bad because my sb live has lasted me for so long. I love the sound card :)

All sound cards with DirectSound/DirectSound3D support are OpenAL compatible (http://openal.org/platforms.html). If you would like to prove that your soundcard is OpenAL compatible then just install this universal OpenAL driver (enables OpenAL on any DirectSound compatible card) and then run this OpenAL Demo program. I've known my sound card (SB Live! Value) has supported OpenAL for ages (UT2k3 used OpenAL and so does BF2) so this whole business about "Your sound card doesn't support OpenAL" is patently ridiculous. Something is up with Raven's implementation of OpenAL in this game. Whatever it is I wanna know how we can get to the bottom of this instead of having to wait around for a patch which may not even fix the sound :(

Hah, just a bit, when there are 12-14 ppl on Lost Fleet its pretty much just a wash of static, garbled mess, and dropped sounds. It was almost nice when the sound would just shut down so I didnt have to hear it. :icon32:
