Serious Q4 issues. O.o

Post by Krazy_K »

Am having a big issue with quake 4. When I recently tried to download a demo, I saved it into my documents, but when I went to extract it to the Q4 base file, quake 4 was no where in my files list for some odd reason. I had to put the cd in to get it to show up in the files which is weird. So then after putting the cd in I tried to extract the files to the q4 base, and it asked me for a password saying that the file was password protected. So then i just tried to extract the files somewhere else and just drag the files into q4 base and then it asked me if i wanted to copy this file on the disc. I don't know wtf to do, and am asking to make sure if this is right or not so I don't fuck the game disc up.

confusing question

i assume your moving the extracted files to
idSoftware\Quake 4\q4base\demos

you can't fuck up the game and if you do just re-install

By what you've said, the compressed demo you downloaded might be password protected.

There is no "demos" file in my q4 base file. Theres just 3 files that say FRA, ITA, and ESP. Have no idea what they are.

Well it's not just demos, its levels too. And if theyre password protected then how am I supposed to download them?

You have to create the demos folder in your baseq4 folder.

Ok well I tried it and it gave me an error message saying "Windows could not support this CD-R format. Please try another disc."

recordNetDemo = record

stopNetDemo = stop recording

playNetDemo filename = play back your demo
