Clock Speed
Clock Speed
I just bought an AMD Sempron 2500+ 64 Bit CPU and a Winfast motherboard. In the BIOS it shows the clock speed for the CPU as 200Mhz.
But it doesnt show the correct CPU so I'm not sure what the correct speed should be. I dont know if there is a multiplier that makes this right or not.
I did contact the manufacterer and they sent me directions on how to update the BIOS. One question thogh, it says at some point to click whatever to backup or save the current BIOS. Where does it save it to in the event that you need it?

Well this is one of my pc's: click
It'll read whatever it's running at. So if it dosen't look right then you need to change something.

The 200 mhz would be the front side bus, not the clock speed. The clock speed should be 1.4 ghz
edit: Are you absolutely sure it's the cpu you think it is? Did you buy it retail somewhere or secondhand?
Bought it new and in the BIOS it shows the clock speed as 200Mhz
Hey scourge34! Hows it been?
You changed your avitar. I think I miss Eddy...lol.
While you are all on this subject could someone interperate the CPU-Z info below and then make any recomendations on adjustments that I might make to improve performance and point out any problem that you might see.
Also give me a general opinion on this system?
Please take into consideration that I only payed $475US for it new with monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers included as listed below in my system specs. Not a bad deal IMO.
First here are my system specs as I see them:

Cool, thanks scourge34!
I figured since people in this thread were already on the subject and a link to a good tool had been posted this would be a better place to find some of the info I am looking for.
Thanks again.
