Can't navigate with mouse

I can't navigate with my mouse on some of the servers and it seems that lately servers that I was able to before don't work now :icon23: . Does anyone have any ideas on this

? I can only look up and down with the mouse but not side to side...any help would be greatly appreciated....

Windows, right? Sounds like a (quite common) DirectX problem. Try upgrading it.

I just reformatted this machine a couple of weeks ago and installed DirectX 9c...should i try to reinstall it? I had this problem before the reformat, but now it seems that it happens on more servers than before...

If your DirectX install is up-to-date, try upgrading your mouse drivers. If the problem occurs again, type /in_restart and see if goes away. If all else fails, set in_mouse to 0 and do an /in_restart again.

aaarghhhh!!! :icon23:i tried that and it still doesn't let me navigate with the mouse!! any more suggestions to try???

Have you tried updating/reinstalling your mouse drivers?

Try typing "/in_mouse 1" in the console. Followed by "/in_restart" (without quotes).

If that doesn't work try typing "/in_mouse -1" followed by "/in_restart" again.

so far i've tried updating my mouseware and typing said commands in the console and alas dear brethren, it STILL :icon23: doesn't work!! Any more ideas on this one

? I DO appreciate everyone's help on this... oh, and one other thing..when i type the 1 or -1, i get a message that says either i have disabled my mouse OR it can't find the joystick (depending on which i type).

in_restart or vid_restart have never fixed that problem for me. Only a hard map_restart on the server or a map change fixes it. But i only get it sometimes when i minimize Q3 and then go back.

Tried deleting q3config.cfg (backup your current one) to use the default settings? If it doesn't work the problem probably isn't Quake but something else (your OS/drivers or hardware).

Are you playing q3 in a smaller window with fullscreen off? If so try going fullscreen only.
