help my cd rom drives not showing up in "my computer&am

my cd rom drives just disapeared from "my computer"

I am clueless as to what to do, I tried some programs that enable the ide channel etc. but no luck

any ideas?

the cables are fine...

this is what devise manager said:

"Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."

and mind you this happens after I uninstall it from device manager, and then it detects the drive by itself, loads the drivers and still gives me error code 41
