Need some Demo help

Post by Raydee »

I recently lost all my Q3 files. I used to have a file that I made which allowed me to bind 1 button to start and stop a demo. I know I could record up to 4 demo's. Does anybody know what I need to do to make another command for that?

Also I want to be able to just spec one person in a game, what is the command for that?

Thanks for the help!

Ok guys I did some searching and found the Demo CFG. Now I just need the command to spec just one person so I can demo them.

Just use your mouse to spec whoever you want to record a demo of.

No there is a way to just floow one player. If you use your mouse to spec when the player is dead you no longer follow that player.

I'll take your word for it, but I don't really follow all the same. Must be something I don't know about
Whenever I spec someone duelling or even in FFA, they simply respawn and I continue to follow them.

ya see, menkent knows!

I was never aware of that command before. Just checked and it is indeed cg_followkiller 0 in my config.

Press fire when spectating to follow a specific person.

This will not work when viewing demos.

Yeah I still have the same problem....once I find the player I want to spec it will follow until they die, then it stops following that player and I have to clich through and find the player again. I am using 1.16 if that matters.

Try the cg_followkiller 0 setting that was mentioned.

If that doesn't fix it my only advice is to upgrade to the latest version :)

might also need to set cg_followpowerup 0 if you don't want it jumping around as people pick up quad/bs/whatever

Don't blame you.

If I released OSP as an official point release, the world would be one significant notch brighter :D
