Is there a Q4 or Q3 equivalent to this mod?

Post by surgeon62 »

Below is a description of a UT2K4 mod named Carnage. It kind of works against FFA situations where you put a lot of damage on an opponent and someone else comes along and finishes them, getting the kill point. Is there anything like this for Q4 yet (or Q3)?

Carnage -This is deathmatch, except instead of scoring for kills, you score for how much damage you give. For instance, killing a player with 100 health would give you a score of 100. However, you don't have to kill someone to get points. This is good for people who get tired of someone stealing their kills. So if you have taken someone down from 100 health to 2 health, and then someone shoots them with the AR and kills them, you get 98 and they get 2, rather than 0 and 1 like in regular deathmatch. Carnage also adds an annoying element to the HUD, right on top of the scoreboard. It shows your current Carnage Level. Carnage levels are gained by going on killing sprees and using the berserk adrenaline combo. You start at level 1, and for every new kill level you get (killing spree, rampage, etc.) you get a new level. Your Carnage Level serves as a multiplier which helps you do damage faster. Also, when you use a berserk combo, this adds one to the Carnage Level. If you die, your Level goes back to 1.

That's a great idea. If I could actually hit anything I guess I could score high.

Yes, OSP Clan Arena has damage-based scoring.

It sounds interesting. Does this mod have a website yet?

I am assuming you are asking about the Q4 mod, but in case you aren't, here's a link to the post for the UT2K4 mod on the Atari forum:

PS: Someone tell me the proper way to do a quote.

While there have been mods that have counted damage as well as frags, all the clan/rocket arena varients I would guess, I dont think anything has thrown in the power multiplier which could get fun for awhile until you had a few guys with perma quads and nail guns/shotguns running around. :icon25:

I used the quote button on both of these quotes. I must be missing something. I click the button and it puts in the begin quote tag. Then I copy and paste the quote in and click the button again. Is that the way you do it?

Look at your name on the left. Follow that across to the right before even getting into the post a reply screen. You will see the date and time, profile, pm, and....quote!

Hit that.

Behold.
