Coffee Grinders

Post by Kills On Site »

I am, or rather after Christmas, will be in need of a grinder for my coffee. I need something good, under $50. From what I know there are two different kinds of grinders, blade and burr. From what I've read burr is supposed to be a better and more consistant grind, so burr would be preferable. I perfer my grind to be rather fine. I was reading up on a Cuisanart burr grinder and a review said that the plastic hopper would get a lot of fine grind stuck to it from static electricity, not a huge problem, but I guess if there is one with a glass hopper that would be better. Any suggestions?

i only came in here to make sure you were going to purchase a burr grinder. $50 though? that's pushing it unless you find one on sale.

Well the coffee maker I am getting for Christmas is a Bunn B-10, looking forward to it. I got it on Amazon for $85, retail for $130. Now it seems really weird to me to pay more for a grinder then for a coffee maker, I looked at the Bunn and Kitchen Aid burr grinders and damn are they expensive.

Currenly the family has a blade grinder, to get it to do the grind I want I shake it as I'm grinding, so it does ok, but I'd perfer not to have one.

Well it will only be coffee, no spices or anything added to it. Can anyone recommend a specific brand or grinder that they love?

Read somewhere that some people add spices and flavors to coffee, something I don't do. I don't see why you asked what kind of coffee I am purchasing, nothing expensive, just coffee, most likely a darker roast.
i asked what kind, but should have stated what brand. if you're tied to a particular brand then nevermind. i go local and get it ground on the spot at a local coffee house.

The exact grinder that the family has, it does its job, but it is rather messy.

Well I've narrowed it down to the Bunn BCG-B Bunn and
at Amazon. Or the Capresso Infinity Capresso and at Amazon. I am leaning towards the Bunn as I know Bunn is great with coffee, but it is more expensive. Noise isn't much of an issue, I'm always the last to get up. I feel rather bad that I am having to save up for a grinder and it will be close to or more expensive then the coffee maker.

I've had a coffee grinder for almost 10 years that I use almost daily for weed. Good stuff! Go Black and Decker, they last!
