So I'm quitting the internet for 2006. In the meantime I'm going to need something to do... I'm planning on taking a long, deep trek into the world of years-past pc video gaming (singleplayer). I don't feel like trying to keep up with hardware and most of these new games don't seem to be doing it for me anymore... I know that I have missed some good games from the past, so if you could please list what you would consider the "top 10 pc games of all time". -Or games you think I just have to play.
Thanks.

Story Driven/Linear/Objective
Shogo: MAD
Half Life
System Shock 2
Heretic
Deus Ex Non-Linear/Multiplayer/No Objective
Quake 1
UT2004
Unreal Tournament
Quake III
Transport Tycoon Deluxe
SimCity 2000
Theme Park (Original)
If you want a more concise list:
Unreal Tournament (and check out the free online content... the game is so wide and deep if you include the addons that it almost outstrips Q3)
Deus Ex (Singleplayer and very linear, but the depth offered by the message log system and inventory adds enourmous quality to the gameplay/story)
System Shock 2 (Think Deus Ex in space with extra atmosphere)
Shogo (Being short and quite amateurish doesn't stop this being a very enjoyable game)

civilization.
quake3 (fun against bots, to a point)
mvp2005
ff7 was fun. kinda bugged me out playing it on pc though... i always associate ff games with console.
DooM and DooM 2.
Baldurs Gate series.
Neverwinter Nights Series. The custom content could keep you going for a very long time as well.
Quake III. Grab all the custom maps you can and just play against the bots. Mods like CPMA and even Head Hunters can give a change of pace offline.
Rome Total War was good for taking up some time, hurt my marks last semester no doubt.
