Redfella, if you haven't tried it yet, definitely give the CPMA mod a shot for offline play. The bots are fantastic....especially at the 8+ skill level (the Aph bot and Rat bots are best). On a few of the maps (especially cpm3a and cpm22) they're pretty good duelers.
If you like quakeworld (I recommend the Fuhquake port), then give the FBCA mod a try. You will lose hours playing TDM on DM3 with these bots...they own. The author is Parboil and the latest version can be found here (click on the files link):
